I bought my first threshing machine 8 years ago when I was only 20 and my dad looked at me like I had two heads. He asked me what I was going to do with it, and being the smart a$$ I am, I replied "I'm going to do custom threshing throughout the county-I'm sure there is a big demand!" Well it took 8 years, but it came true-I got a call the other day to do some custom threshing!! A family west of us are celebrating their farm turning 150 year old and they are having a family get together and have asked me to bring a threshing machine over for a small demo. Sure is fun being able to share our hobby with others! Anybody have a good story about threshing or threshing machines?

Helped on threshing crew the fall of 1958 ran the binder a little ,a JD with pto drive, but mostly shocked and loaded wagons. this was the last normal threshing in our valley.

1994 a group of us got together to thresh again.Had the grain all shocked waiting for it to dry when the Elk found the field, had to load the shocks on trucks and hide them in the barn to keep the Elk out and still had a great day and picnic. In the old days we didnt have Elk in the lower mountian meadow. needless to say we dont try to raise oats for grain anymore

1962, threshing at a dutch family farm, when several half grown turkeys appeared on the scene. The tuukeys were mesmerized by the pulleys, and each in turn took a poke at the whirring device and each lot his head. All was not lost and when we left for the evening all were hanging on a line
