Anybody seen anything like this that might be able to answer the following questions? ******* I bought an NOS HM-221 cultivator the other day (i.e. steering gangs). Much of it is still wired together in bundles from the factory. It set around in someone's barn for 60 years. The front gangs and tractor mount were assembled by someone. The problem I have is that some of the parts aren't the same as those pictured in the HM-221 manual (publication date 2-25-49 -- 55A). In the manual, the lift-pipe bracket attaches to the gang coupling head. The gang coupling head that I have has no place to attach the lift-pipe bracket. Also, the manual has a pressure rod and shield strap bracket attached to the gang (the point of attachment of the pressure rods so the cultivator can be raised). My gangs have no such bracket attached nor holes in the gang for one. There are a couple of pieces that came with my cultivator (but not shown in the parts list in the manual) that look like they might be for attachment of the pressure rods, but where in sam hairy do I attach the lift-pipe bracket? Also, the shifting bar is in one piece rather than 2 as in my manual. Were there different versions of the HM-221, and perhaps I have the wrong manual? Or perhaps the front fram assembly is from a different, but similar cultivator (229? 226?)? All the other parts seem to jive with the manual. Any ideas? Also, the paint on the gangs, shanks, gang clamp, and gang coupling heads is blue. The paint on the main frame angles, rear rock shaft, lift handles, lift pipe, and shields is red. Is this typical?
