I have a IH 6' sickle bar mower,it has the square stock shaft comming off the gear box I need a shaft to put between the tractor and mower.It came with a slip clutch that was shot and they seem too be expensive.Wher can I get an alternative or the same replacement? Thank you

in huntsville al there is a shop that specializes in making nothing but drive shafts. look for one near you. my ford dealer carries a big supply of drive shafts and u joints. there shouldn't be anything specail about making you up a drive shaft. some bush hogs come with a set of disk that are simpply bolted together with a bolt thats made to shear if you over load your system. it has to be made to do that by a factor. its not something i would want to make up myself. if the bolt shears off then the two pieces still have to be attached so the drive shaft doesn't just go frailing around any where.
