Hi everyone , I know it's a mite early to think about that but I am . Besides I like the cold :) Question is , when's the time to buy the seed for doing it ? I know seed can lose it viability with time but I don't know how much time is to much . It'll be tim , brome and orchard probably . mostly tim though . And what's the best way to store it till near spring aside from keeping it dry and dark ? Thanks ! ...Randy

Randy, don't know about the others but when I used to combine timothy seed and red clover seed we had seed here that was 10 years old and still good. Just kept it in a cloth bag in a wood box in a shed.

i don't see the need in the trouble and expence to store seed for that long. what if your shed got blow away during a storm? then you'd be out double expence. a plastic barrel that coke syrup comes in sells for about 10 bucks here in n al. you'd have to keep the rats out. one with a removalable lid would be ease to clean out and the main thing i would think would be keeping the moisture content down real low to keep the seed from trying to sprout.
