belt tracking on vermeer 605H

I still have problems with all the belts tracking to the left side on my 605H. I went thru the manual and one of the first things it mentions is making sure the belt tensioner is square (equal height above the axle on each end).

Mine is almost half an inch lower on the left then the right...

Tonight I was thinking of chaining down the right side of the belt tensioner in the bale chamber to the axle, then using the bottle jack and block of wood method of leveling the tensioner out.

Any other thoughts?

any time a belt does track right something isn't in line. no suprise i guess huh? but i was just wondering if you really let off on the right side a whole lot and tried it and if still tracked left then you've got more problems than just adjustments, i would think. i will be willing to bet you have a bearing out that you've missed. it may be packed with dirt and hay and doesn't show up by just shaking it. you might have to remove all the outside bearing holders to take a look inside. i had an ih that always shot out the same bearing. never did figure that one out. good luck.

I forgot to mention, I checked that I didn't have any bearings heating up, all the belts are cut square.

I worked with the turnbuckles on top but didn't have any luck getting the belts to move over and quit riding on the left side belt guides.

Not familiar with the baler, but are you sure you are going the right way with the tensioner to adjust the tracking on the belts.

If they are going to the left you need to tighten the left side belts.

The belts always track to the loosest side.
