Sharpening knives on NH268 baler

I have a New Holland 268 baler which the knives are in need of sharpening. My question is what is the most practical and efficient way to accomplish this and if they are too far gone can they be replaced? The manual I have doesn't go into any details on this. Thanks for any and all help.

I used to pull mine out and sharpen them. Now I just kind scrunch in there and use a 4" angle grinder. I do the shear plate too. NH used to sell a cone shaped allen headed bolt to fit the knife, but my dealer said they're discontinued and sold me plow bolts and nuts. That is a real pain, so I switched to sharpening it in place.

Did your dealer say how recently they were discontinued? I just last year bought those bolts from a New Holland dealer for a model 68 baler. I would question your dealer"s information.

Not too big of a deal to remove the knives just watch for shims as you take the 3 bolts off that hold each knife on. Had ours out recently and my father in law (who is a machinist by trade) sharpened them using an angle grinder and a file. They came out pretty good. The NH dealer quoted us $68 each for new knives.

I have NH 273. I took the knives off last year and took them to a machine shop. They did a great job for $40.
I live in Macoupin Co. Illinois
