Side dresser for dry fertilizer

I plant using model 71 john deere planter on a 2" diamond tool bar with 6 planters and would like to side dress these with dry fertilizer. These planters are ground driven units and I am trying a little truck farming. Any ideas on how to build or aquire side dressers that would gravity feed fertilize to 6 rows. Or any other idea on how to get the job done besides using single row side dresser. Thanks

I have the fertilizer unit off a ford 309 2 row planter mounted on an old ford 2 row cultivator with a drive wheel mounted to power it. Works like a charm for dressing 2 rows at a time. I even side dressed 2 acres of melons one row at a time with it yesterday. Check out the Cole McNifty gravity units. They should mount easily to your toolbar. I'd consider mounting to a toolbar other than your planter so you can side dress at layby.

I use a Super C for two rows at a time. I also have a 4 row IH planter that has ground drive fertilize units on it. If you had a toolbar and 6 of those it could be done fairly easy. If you like I could send you a picture of the set up on it. I have been thinking of selling the planter units and making a 4 row side dresser out of it. I am fairly sure you just need the units and the toolbar. Old IH planters are usually fairy cheap at auctions. I would also think JD and others had a simular unit. Aren't you cultivating your truck crops? If so the one row would work fine, if that is what you are cultivating with. If you want pics send me an email and I will send them.
