couple of case trip plow questions

how does the trip work where can i get a manual for these plows
to clean out the trip can i fill with dielse and run it around to flush out and which one is worth more on steel 16inch or rubber 14inch
what are paint names/colors

If you know the model # you can check for manuals either on the left side or the top of this page. Value is tricky in that it will depend on location and condition and more importantly the current market at any given point in time. In other words yesterday someone wanting the 16 would pay more for the 14, but tomorrow someone wanting the 14 more than the 16 and today if both were put on auction and sold as choice could go either way. For the paint data try: Link The site offers IHC color codes and patterns for most if not all IHC tractors and implements. Either this forum or the Farmall tractor forum covered the way to clean the trip mechanism just in the past week or so. Think it was more along the lines of taking it apart and cleaning than in the liquid flush method. The mechanism is a ratchet drive that is "locked out" by the trip lever allowing the hub to rotate freely. When the lever is pulled the latch is loosed causing the ratchet to engage and rotate the gear until the lever reengages the opposite latch. BTDT don't hold the trip rope too long or either the plow will pull back up or drop back down depending on which way you were trying to move it.

He should get the color from a case source not an ihc.
