Anyone Know of a trick to installing pins in belt lacing?
I purchased a 10" new belt for my baler. It came with poly coated steel pins but I can't get the pins to go all the way thru lacing. About 2" is all I can push it.

Any help is appreciated
Thanks

I work for the local Newspaper here and we have the same type of lacing on our conveyor belts. What I do is make sure there is plenty of slack in the belt, then usually I have someone hold the lacing together while I slide the pin in Also if you have room to do it on the roller or another hard surface to lay the lacing on while holding it together really helps Good Luck

Try a lenght of wire, thinner than the pin. If you can run it through, then push your pin in as you pull out the wire.

[quote="charlieLCDR"](reply to post at 21:00:23 06/17/07) what I have always done is chuck the end of the rod in a drill get it started lube it a little and then let it spin as you push just a little bit it should go right in
