Bought a used NH 310 baler, using it for the first time this weekend it is making bales with a insufficent amount of hay on the right side. I have adjusted feeder carriage and also adjusted feeder back with no luck. Has anyone had a similar problem and has found a way to correct it?
Any help would be appreciated, seems like i have tried everything the manual mentions.

That 310 NH baler has a lot more capacity than the
massey you had. You have to put the hay in a lot faster, in order to get a good bale out of it.

If adjusting the feeder forks didn't help, you may want to see if the hay dog springs are good and look to see if the wedges in the bale chamber are there in matching sets. Sometimes a wedge can wear out on one side and cause simular trouble. Also count the threads on the tension adjusters to see if they are even on both sides.

feed it some hay. I got a NH310 and it likes to be feed some hay. I run third gear on my 5610 and the 310 will drop nice square bales all day long.

GOOD LUCK
Sam

On mine it seems to help if I weave back and forth a little over the windrow so that the windrow is fed into the baler across the entire width of the pick up. You might give that a try.
