Hello,
Was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between a 530 and 535 JD round baler. Were they any good? How long have they been made? Any idea what size bale they made? Thanks, YC

my custom baler used to have a 530, made a good bale. He traded for a 535 makes a better bale, does it with less leaf loss,etc. If the price is right go with the 535.

530's were built in the early 80's,535's were the next model. Both make 5X6 bales. Both have hyd tension on belts but 535 has 2 tension cylinders plus gate cylinders for tension while 530 uses 2 large springs plus gate cylinders for tension. 530 has one twine arm while 535 has dual twine arms and holds twice as much twine. Both have bale monitors. Tx Jim

both balers use hyd tension cylinders, the 530 has a big spring to help with tension, the 535 has a spring on a long rod to help with tension...the main difference is the double string tie on 535 and single tie on 530.. also net wrap can be on the 535 and not the 530..also the 535 has a cv drive line that is a lot better for turning. both balers charge the tension system from the tractor, i would go with the 535 because you don't sit as long waiting for the baler to tie and they way fuel cost that can add up....
