I have a friend who just destroyed the needles and knotter on his JD 14T baler. Any one know of a source for parts or have one they would part out. He is in west central IN.

What do you mean by "destroyed the knotter"? If the shaft and castings on the knotter are broken, even with used parts it may be more cost-effective to find another baler and scrap this one. Been there, done that.

Ok maybe I was being a bit dramatic. The needles are broken and bent into preztles and one chunk broke off one of the bill hooks and a drive chain is broken and possibly some other parts. I didn't spend much time looking at it. The guy has a sawmill and I was dropping off some logs to cut into lumber and he asked if I knew where to get some parts to fix it. I said I would try to help out. It already had a lot of new parts on it when he got it,and he really likes the baler so he wants to fix it if possible, he just needs to know where to get them or if someone has one that they will part out. Until this happened it would only miss one or two bales out of a hundred he said.

If a chain is broken, it got out of time. Need a manual to get that back in shape properly. Don"t change the number of links in the chain! I think maybe the plunger stop isn"t working on that baler to cause the damage he had. Get that checked out first before sinking any money and time into it. Bill hooks he should buy new from JD, used ones are usually junk. Needles might have to be bought new, used ones can be a problem to find not worn out or re-welded.
