just got ahold of 2 2 bottome case trip plows one 14 and one 16 on steel i was told that the trip mechanism is "hydrolic" and thers gear oil in the mechanism what weight is that and i wanna clean it out is filling it with diesle and tripping it then draining it a good idea

I just went through a Case 2/14 trip model B and found a manual for it. They want 140 gear lube.

If your plow is a "trip" plow then it is not hydraulic, unless someone has converted it. If that's the case you will see where a cylinder attaches. If you want to clean out the trip clutch, pull the wheel off and take it apart and clean it out that way. Not complicated. Refill with 80/90 or even 140 gear lube. Slow moving parts and not likely to be used in cold weather. LE
