New holland 268 baler tying problem

NH 268 baler is only tying on one side of the bales. Any ideas as to what it is that is causing it. It started this apparently right out of the barn on the first couple bales today, and worked fine last year. Not my baler, just asking this for a neighbor of mine.

if it worked fine when you parked it but now doesn't then there must be somthing obvious with the twine. trace the twine from knotter back to twine spool and you will find problem.

I have a 268 baler, and have the manual for it. Tell us a little more about what it is or isn't doing. Is the twine threaded right and does it feed soomthly out of the spools?

We will need a lot more info than that to even begin to diagnose that problem. There are lots of things that cause a baler not to tie. First thing is you will need a manual for that baler. It will have all critical knotter adjustments in it. They are available at NH dealer.

I would inspect all parts on the offending side for damage, rust, frozen, etc. If it has set over the winter, many things could have happened, depending on storage conditions. Sometimes, the twine is a problem too. Try crossing the twine to the opposite side. See if that changes anything.
