I came within an hour of driving out to buy a 10' model. i had been searching for 10' mowers and seen JD, rhino, kodiak.. etc and the kodiak was built ok and was cheaper.. On my way to get it I spied a dealer with howse mowers on his lot.. and he happened to have a 10'er for even cheaper yet... also a decent looking mower.. so i got the howse instead.

I'd say it is at least as good as KK / howse in the light/medium duty mower lineup.. etc..

Went through buying a 6 ft rotary mower last year. I tend to be a little rough on mowers and I wound up getting a Bush Hog brand heavy duty one. Looked at Kodiaks. Most makers will make heavy duty mowers and Kodiak has heavy duty models with thick decks. 6 ft Kodiak had two tail wheels so should cut even. The only objection I had to the Kodiak was that it didn't have the stump jumper like the Bush Hog and some other makes. Look under the Kodiak deck and see how the blades are attached and judge for your self if it suits your uses.

I like a SJ if I'm mowing unfamiliar area.. if I'm mowing a familiar area.. a bar type blade carrier is fine.. I was surprised to find out that my JD mower did not have SJ's.. Yet my KK and howse did..
