Friends baler. It's a F or G, not sure which. so far---has checked all belts for same length, tried the adjustments called for to correct belt tracking, turned belts over or around---whichever was recommended, checked for warped tailgate. Found was slight warp and fixed with a block of wood in door trick. Still all belts track to one side and try to tear out the lacings. Thought I'd post problem on here and maybe a comment or two to help. Thanks!!! LB

i always stop my baler on one side of the windrow before tying it off and then as quick as i start forward, run a little bit of hay all the way across the width of the baler. windrows play a part in how the bales are formed too. if they aren't all formed as uniformed as possible then it makes lope sided places in the bale and that really messes the shape of the bale up. if i had to guess i'd say tht you need to remove all the belts, cut them all to the same length and start over with them. on e thing tht you need to do if you have belts that have ridges in them is to use a side grinder and grind the ridges off. if you don't when you put the lacing back in the ridges will push the rings out and make the belt seperate. i quit using anything but brass brazing rods in the lacing to hold them together. just bend the ends down on both sides to hold rod in place and it will out wear regular lacing by 5 or 6 times.

Please call CCM, 423-282-6969, ask for William. We track belts all the time with our frame straitening techniques.

He has had the baler several yrs and had good luck so must know proper operation. Been over the bearings and find no problems. None heating up--so he told me Sunday. He's about ready to get another baler as tired of messing with it. Thanks for all the comments and I'll rely them along. LB

Now, does it do this empty or with a proper bale formed in it?

Or are we not weaving back & forth to make a uniform bale, wadding up all the hay on one side & nothing on the other, so the belts go to one side?

Sounds like you fellows are experienced, but gotta ask the simple questions too. :)

We ran a 605F for over a long time and with it you adjusted the turn buckles on top of the baler frame to correct belt tracking. It basically twisted the baler side frames to align the rollers. As mentioned previous make sure all bearings are intact first. Those bearings on the tension arm are sometimes hard to tell if they are out. Lock up the tension arm to loosen the belts and then see if you can move any of the rollers. Good luck

If the bearings are ok I try the Gates Power Band.
It has a web across the belts. We used these where they were using 5 belts over a sheave and they kept popping off and cause the other belts to jump off. One Power Band from Gates solved the
problem when I called them. hal

I would check for bad brgs or broken roller that belts runs on. Tx Jim
