Just wondering what the min HP requirements are for a 311 baler with belt thrower pulling a kicker wagon? Had a mf180 (64 pto hp) on it and plugged it a couple of times. Just got it last night and today when i hooked it up, had to rev up the old tractor just to get to go...
thanks for info,
jeff

60 HP should be plenty for any small square baler. Plugging isn't because the tractor is too small. Some problems are trying to feed it in too fast, a big slug going through before stopping and taking it slowly, etc... Most problems with plugging are more related to the hay and how thic it is at any given point and the speed at which is is being taken in.

yeah just never had any problems with the 180 on the 273 baler is why i was wondering??? seemed like it just didn't have enough umph to do it? was wondering if it was the tractor or the baler? think i'll hook onto it with another tractor and see how it goes. thanks for the info

I have pulled my 311 with a massey 175 and wagon for 20 years.
