Just bought a 336 baler tonight. I"ll be going to pick it up this weekend. Anybody been around these alot? What type of capacity do they have? Is it considered a medium capacity baler? How many bales an hour can you crank through in good hay? Do they have a history of tieing well or anything else they are prone to?
Thanks
DJL

A well cared for 336 baler is about as good as it gets. I purchased a new 336 in 1980. It was a left over after the 337's had already came out. Mine had a #30 thrower and was a baling dream. We had a new Vermeer 605F at the time and you could bale as fast with that 336 as the round baler. Just couldn't keep wagons to that baler. Your only limitation is the men behind the baler. We were able to bale 500 bales of hay and 600 straw an hour with no problem. Just use quality twine and have fun.

Its a medium capacity baler with a great reputation. They hold their value well because they work well.

As far as bales per hour it depends on the hay but I seem to get 200-250 bales an hour in my fields where I have lots of turning and friggin with my 9 ft raking to get past the previous row.

In good conditions I've put what would be 400 bales an hour probably but only for about 15 min before running out of hay or getting held up, the slightest thing will knock you back. At max strokes per minute you could make 450 x 12 flake bales an hour.

After some knotter troubles when I bought it got sorted I get 1000 bales between misties, usually at spool change over.

I still get a slight banana with the far side of the chamber not getting enough hay when pushing the baler hard. I have my throw fork all the way over too. At low feed rates (200 bales hour) it isn't a problem.
