Hi All , Any one know how to take one of these apart ? This would be the first one on the power shaft . The one way clutch catches on occasion when I'm turning it over by hand working on the knotters . Looks as simple as loosening up the adjustment spring bolts and maybe having it clamped together with some big C-clamps . Is it that easy ? More important - are new parts available ? I noticed today when I was in the local boneyard that none of the scrapped 14's had this clutch anymore . Thanks ! ...Randy

i've had good luck just taking them apart and giving them a good wire brushing to knock the rust off. main thing is to keep them covered when not in use with something sturdy to avoid mositure from getting to them. put the bolts all back on under the same amount of tension. you might want to count how many turns you loosen them as your taking them off.

Hi , Good advice ! I just wish I had a shed to put it in . I do try and keep them covered with a tarp and some rubber roofing membrane .

That wirebrushing was what I was hoping would fix it but won't know till I get it apart I guess . I have a different tongue I'm going to put on it so that'll be a good time to remove it . Have you ever done the test the manual calls for ? Testing the slip torque with a ten foot bar and a scale ? Thanks ! ...Randy

Randy,you're corret in assuming to remove nuts from all the bolts with the springs. There is no need for the c-clamps on any that I have replaced linings. I think it can be repaired without a manual being needed but timing and knotters are a different story. Tx Jim

Hi Jim , Yup ! I was sitting here getting ready to go to bed last night when I thought to ask that question . Trouble is I didn't think about the solution before asking the question . Duh ! I looked in the parts book and saw how it was put together . Pretty simple . They seem to be a hot item at the junkyard . I'll get to it this week sometime . Thanks ! ...Randy
