Where to find rake teeth?

I need some rake teeth for my old Farmhand wheel rake and can't find some locally. Is there any places on internet where I can purchase them at a reasonable price? Would even be interested in some used one's.

You got any TSC's close by? Go through the catlog, they should be able to order them for you. Don't know where the other guy saw them for $18 each, but we buy them form Fleet Farm for about $2.50-3.50/pc. Been a while so i don't know the exact price. You don't want used teeth, they'll just break off and end up in a tire

A way to prevent from loosing the really dangerous tire stabbers that still have a part of the coil on them, wrap a peice of wire around the wheel, going through all the coils and then tie it off. When you need to replace another, you pull it around to where you need to open it with a good pliers or vise-grip.

You'll still loose the ones that break off of the coil, but they aren't as bad. (still pose a small threat though) Our rake lost one of those wires for one crop, and then a couple years later I found the busted rake tooth in the front tire of the plow tractor.

It's not a Farm Hand, but it does use the same teeth.

The $18 for the wire-tooth (double tooth) was at my local Farmhand dealer (What a mess between CNH & Agco - they sell some of each product line!)

Well, I know of a JD place that sells NH also. Don't know how that works out, but it's probably the biggest JD dealer in the state and that's the only location that I know of that deals in NH. I'm guessing they bought out a Ford/CNH dealer and kept up with the product line. Kinda weird seeing brand spanking new JD combines, tractors, hervestors etc, then seeing a brand new NH harvestor right next to it. They seem to be doing it though...

For $18 they better be chrome plated with gold cast into the steel...

Do you just drill a hole on the side of the wheel to use the single tine one's? I'll call St John Hardware tomorrow and see what they have or can get. Jone's don't carry much in the way of haying parts, I stopped to get some shear bolts for my IH baler one day and they didn't even have any. I have to go to Clarkston tomorrow to have a trailer inspected, I'm going to stop at the farm and ranch supply and see what they have.

Where are you located at?

Bob,

I think the link I posted actually is for a "double tooth", even though the picture is of a single tooth.

Right now, I'm "exiled" to the Boise area for work...been down here almost 5 years. I went to college at UI, and my wife grew up a little east of Moscow. We're hoping to move back that direction...if I can find a job. ;-)

I just bought half-a-dozen universal teeth for my old "weed-patch special" farmhand rake -

The double-wound wire teeth (with clip) were ~$18/ea, the universal (rubber mount, straight tooth) rake teeth wer ~$6/ea - I bought the straight!

I would think that St. John's Hardware, or Jones Truck & Implement would be able to supply the "universal fit" teeth. I will try to get a picture tonight and post back tomorrow.

You could also call the closest listed dealer and see what shipping would be. :-(
