I just purchased a used NH 1012 bale wagon but no manual. I am ordering one but it will take a while before it gets here. Can anyone tell me what each of the levers on the control mount does?

Thanks!

I have a 1010 bale wagon and I think the controls should be the same. Standing at the front of the bale wagon looking left to right, the controls are as follows: second table control handle, load rack control handle, bale loader rope, bale loader latch control handle. Hope this helps!

the controls at the front of the wagon are to be used from the tractor seat. there are four control rods.these are push/pull type controls. one is labeled "load rack". it raises and lowers the entire load for stacking. one is labeled "load table"(i think) anyway it has an adjustable stop on the rod. this one controls the second table that lifts eight bales to the load rack. the adjustable stop allows you to hold this in a raised position. this has a second function which is to control the push-off feet. when stacking and the load rack is fully raised pull the "load table" rod and the feet will extend and push the tractor and wagon away from stack. push it back in and the push-off feet will retract. a third control has a cable connected to it. this one allows the operator to use the single bale unload feature from the tractor seat. i never did use this, always used the unload control lever on the side of the wagon. the final control is for the automatic tie feature. when you pull it the spikes on the second table pop up and also a trip arm on the first table is raised.the tie tier is always the fifth tier and is merely a different arrangement of the bales that keeps the stack tied together. it is only needed for stacking. if you intend to unload each bale individually do not make a tie tier. as far as the tie tier goes, I never did have much luck doing this automatically. I find it just as easy to jump off the tractor and rearrange the bales by hand. this fourth control also latches the bale pick-up in the transport position. pull the rope a bit to remove tension on latch then pull contol rod to unlatch, lower bale pick-up, and push control rod back so that the spikes are retracted.
these labels are from memory, as the decals on my wagon have long since peeled off. also if your stack wagon is equipped with an in-cab control box (i don't believe 1012 had this option) the lever arrangement will be different but the function the same. sorry was so long. you will appreciated that manual when you get it. good luck with your wagon, it is good, labor saving tool.
