I picked up this picker last saturday.. Everything looks to be there, just going to need to get some things loosened up..

What is the best way to get the small drive shafts loose going from the drive chains to the heads?

I was going to try and heat them.. Is this a good idea?

I am going to mount it to my M farmall!

this is a new idea 201 mounted picker..

The two drive shafts on each side are what i need to loosen up... It shouldn't take much heat to free them.

deisl fuil works well. i have never had to use heat . take chains off to iselate difront areas and work on thows. i work from the outer points back to pto. heat is hard on bearings and seals.

what model of picker did you guys get? i had an old 50s model with trailing husking bed but had to get rid of it when we moved from home farm. got a ford mounted on a wd45 allis now that i want to try this year. what kind of yields do you guys get from wide rows? still debating wether to switch planter for my 30 acres back to wide rows or just use old 2 row plantter to plant ends and a few rows in middle so i can play with this picker and open up field. there is a corn picker forum online now but i dont have the link to it. good luck and be safe!

Hey Floyd,

Is there any chance you bought that at a sale near Spring Hill, TN? They had a really great sale of consigned farm equipment a couple of Saturdays ago. Naturally, I had commitments that I couldn't get out of and missed it.

One of the items that I saw there during early inspection was a mounted, two row picker. Not sure of the brand.

Good luck with your new equipment.
