I am trying to figure out an unusual hitch on a MF sickel mower thats coming up in an auction. The id plate is unreadable, I think its a 30 or 31. Thats not my real problem however. It has a hitch I have never seen before. Its a Dyna Balance mower that appears to hitch to brackets under the axle trumpets. Being unfamilar with the hitch its hard to tell if its complete. Any help, especially a picture would be much appreciated. [No picture available]

I had a MH Model FE 20 that hook up that way.
Bought a MF model 41. Found the crank way bad.
found out the head off the FE20 bolted up the the model 41 used it for 3 yrs now no problem.
take about 5 min the hook it up now.

That"s a Ferguson FEO-30 most likely. My great uncle had one. The Ferguson design used a frame that pinned the mower under the rear axle (used special pins which aren"t available anymore), with a spring assembly mounted on the 3-point arms that provided a float suspension in the lowered position and locked springs for transport when raised all the way. A chain was used from the rear of the mower frame to the toplink bracket on the tractor to adjust the amount of float. I can"t remember but I think the chain may have adjusted cutting height, too. This mower was an absolute bear to get on and off the tractor. The Dyna-Balance box is the same as on the later MF 31 mower, which hooks up using standard 3-point hitch.

I am about 95% sure its a Massey. 1. It was originally mounted on an MF 65. 2.Its painted gray. 3. AC tractors and dealers were very scarce in my area, I don't know why but there were few AC tractors in my neck of the woods.

FYI I have a MF 32 and it doesn't have anything special, just hooks up to the 3pt. Mine is also red, and I'm 99% sure the 31 & 41 dyna balance mowers were red as well.
