FORD 501 3PT. MOWER

Just got a Ford 3 pt. mower--thinking it is a 501.
I need the piece that attaches to the wood pitman bar where it clamps on the bar--it is a two piece that bolts on both sides of the pitman bar. What kind of dealership would handle these. Don't know of any Ford dealerships anymore in our area.Also just in front of the rear flywheel that drives the pitman--one of the grease cups is gone on the PTO shaft. Can these be driven off while on the machine or do I need to get them in a vice to force them out???

If this is a cup for the cross shaft of the U joint, maybe the others are better than me, but I need to take it off, use a vice, lots of patience, and often learn or make up a few new words before it is all put back together again?

I would greatly appreciate an emailed 501 manual as again today I struggled through the clover and winter rye wishing I had a clue as to how to set the darn thing up properly. thanks, joe

look for a new holland dealer...they still can get parts if not in stock or do a search for new holland online.

Most good farm and home supply stores sell the pitman part. Shoot I might even have that part on a junk one I have laying around here

Old and others who answered--many thanks.
Do I need the Pitman Lever to hold the two straps over the ball on the knife or can I just put a bolt in there to draw it up tight.
Will be just using the mower to mow a 1/4 ditch bank a couple times per year.

They work better with the flip lock but I have used a bolt many times instead of the right part there and it has worked well
