Recently bought a very nice mower for my MT John Deer. But, there is one problem, the front half of the PTO is missing. This would have a solid 3/4" by 7/8" steel shaft with a U-Joint and 1-3/8" splined coupleing to mount on the tractor. Does anybody have one or is there a source where I can go to make one. Thank You!

JD parts shows coupler and shaft are no longer available from them but the u-joint still is. Operators and parts manual shows the tractor spline coupler was 1 3/8" and was fastened on with a cotter key thru hole. If you have the standard ASAE type PTO shaft with the groove any standard snap on PTO coupler should fit or can still be drilled for a hole and have a piece of shaft welded on it that is cut to length. Most welding or machine shops in your area that do ag repairs will have the PTO coupler parts and shaft and can build up a shaft for you. Weren't you the one looking for Wetmore grinder info? I found some info on that and email is open.
