Hi All , I have an opportunity to buy a bale basket ( the push up the chute type ) but neither of us has any idea what it's worth . He bought it new about 15-20 years ago I guess and it still looks pretty good . It was built in either Wisc. or Minnesota . It's supposed to hold about 100 bales more or less . Tires are fair , paint is good and it still has stickers left on it . I haven't had a chance yet to look it over closely .


Any special tricks to use one ? I was told they don't like tight turns , I can see why . Anything else ? Thanks ! ...Randy

I paid $1800.00 for mine at a auction. seen them go more than that but thats about average for around here. Almost bought one last year for $3000. glad I waited!

I've got a NH 1010 bale Wagon that will single bale unload right into your elevator. I'd let it go for $1500.

Have been using them (Pro-Quality) for 15+ years. Will pick up a 3rd one when I find one for the right price and have the cash on hand. Don't find many for sale around here, but they usually run $1000+ for older ones, $1300+ for newer ones with the extended loading chute. One tip is Don't start a new load on a corner. Start straight. Starting on a corner can put the bale sideways in the chute and mess things up. Hard to pull the bales out. My Dad baled with them once when I was gone. He started on a corner, but didn't look back until it went "Bang" and the hitch had broken off the baler.

I see asking $2500, I see them sell at auctions from $800-1800. Mine was $1600 with the NH hitch included at auction. Not many for sale 'here' & I needed it, so had to bid - I assume the other bidder was thinking the same. Mine is an older pro-quality, the slide doesn't extend into the basket.

Alfalfa can turn about as short as you want to turn with the baler. Real dry straw or very dry long stem grass will slip out on shorter turns.

I'm happy with it.

Can"t say what the used price would be but I think
I have seen them advertised new in the $3500 to
$3800 range. Monks near me have one and they like
it as the number of brothers is down.

does it have a single latch cable lever for the gate,if so its ez-trail. If it has two latches and lever setup to the gate latches it is pro-Quality unit,it has taller narrow tire up front ez-trail has like a little boat trailer tire up front. I ran three of the ez-trail units for a long time and LOVED THEM. Now have accumulator grapple setup but wish still had one of them.
Value of those really is territorial and if they were like by owner,they have a bad rep for some reason(from my experience it was alll operator errors). $750 to $1200.00 range. Sounds like your unit might be in lower range. you learn the tricks and they are really nice. Randy give me a call 319-257-6764 and will tell you the things to do to make them work really nice for ya.PS I like the ez-trail units they were more stable in the hills. Hauling capacity depends on your bales 80 to 100 I usually think had around 90 some but when we stacked them 155 aprox. give me call. don't worry about the corners I nver did unless you jackknife the units,we just baled.Daughter usually did the baling when had those units because they were so trouble free
