Trying to replace tires on NH 268 square baler. Left wheel has more lugs than right and will not slide off. I assume something other than rust is holding it in place. What is my next move? (Buying a new baler is not the answer.) Thanks.

WD-40 and a gentle sledgehammer.

You've just got a rusty rim - warp it good a time or two it will break loose.

If what Don says doesn't work loosen the bolts up a little then pull it around a little bit, doing so will work the rim loose, check if often because doing that can brake the bolts or mess them up. Most of the time a good turn left and right will pop it free fast

You mean the rim won"t slide off the hub? It"s just rust. Lots of rust. Take a hammer and hit the tire a couple times. Some can be very stubborn.

As for the different # of lug bolts (or nuts) it"s just because the knotter side is so much heavier than the other side. Just about all the balers of the same vintage have the same set-up for wheels. 6 bolt on the chamber/knotter side, 4 bolt on the pickup side.
