I have a woods 59 belly mower that I"ve been having some problems with. All the decals, ect... were worn off when I got it, so I"m not sure of the age or exact model of it, but I do know it"s a right - hand rotation and mounts on a Cub LoBoy 154. My question is if you would have any advice on where the baffles would mount underneath of this thing, or if certain ages of these even had baffles? There is one welded in the front right corner (when sitting on the tractor) but nothing else. I"m assuming this is my problem as this tends to leave a trail and not cut all the way on the right hand side of the deck about directly behind / in-line with where the castor is on that side. I found actual baffle parts online but cannot find drawings, ect.. of where they would go for sure (I"m assuming if it originally had any, they were welded on as well) Thanks!!

Is this your Woods? Mine is an L-59. I know of the corner baffle you"re refering to, but don"t remember which or both corners. Mine is rear discharge, but I"ve seen them with side discharge as well, and suppose I could set mine up for side discharge too, if I wanted to. I was just under mine last Sunday to change the blades, but couldn"t get two off by myself. They are really on there, and was under it with a breaker bar and really torking the deck upwards to break those bolts. That can only bad news on the knuckles, real bad news at that point. This Saturday morning when get home, I"m going to pull the deck off and flip it where I can get a better angle and not lose a finger if and when something breaks loose. Why don"t you email me, and I"ll see if I can"t get you a picture or two while its off, upside down, and viewable. Deal? That"s if this is your Woods. Not sure if right or left rotatation, or if can"t reverse rotation if wasn"t paying attention (like me) when ordered the blades, and got the opposite rotation by mistake. I fully expect to reverse my rotation this Saturday, and can"t imagine why I can"t.

What is the purpose behind left or tight hand rotation on these decks - is it just dependent on PTO rotation?? Just curious (and still learning!!!)
Thanks,

Yep, know about the reversed bolts. Now there"s a concideration...reversing my rotation because got reversed blades oughta be working against me when mowing. Not good. Hide the women and children.
