I just picked up a NH 650 round baler. Anyone have any tips on these balers? I had an 852 with Autowrap so I know the basics. I saw an old post by Kyhayman about removing the feederforks when running wet bales. What is the feeder forks? I didnt find any mention of them in the manual. Any other tips on running these balers in high moisture? Thanks

Sorry Im a little late on this. The forks or wind guard are on the front over the teeth.

In wet hay the main things I have found are slower ground speed. Slow the PTO speed down to idle on core formation. Let the baler pull the hay into itself. If at any time it stops feedinginto the bale chamber STOP forward motion. It wont ram on in. Usually if you stop quick enough it will eventually feed. Once the bale size indicator moves I run it up to full540 PTO rpm but stay a gear or 2 lower than baling dry hay. Be sure and keep buildup off the smooth belt idler rollers. It will ball up and get the tension out of whack.
