Well just got home from picking up the new baler today. I was able to get a very nice John Deere 336 for $3500 from a friend of mine's father-in law. Has had very little use and there is still paint inside the bale chamber. Was always stored inside so it looks real good too! Has quite a few options too including flotation tires, pickup guage wheel, bale counter, bale chute extension (brand new, never used), side hay resistors, and plungerhead extensions. Serial number is 136374E. Anybody know what year that makes it??? Also, what twine should I use in it? Currently it has green sisal in it and I generally use plastic 176-9600 in my old 24T. What would work better? Thanks!!!

Matt,

You are going to enjoy that baler. I have a 327 (very similar) and it makes baling a pleasure. Be sure to pick up an operators manual if you didn"t get one at purchase. Filled with good information on set-up and maintenance.

I would probably stick with 9000 sisal, but if you prefer plastic that is your choice. In the manual, it will give you set-up instructions for changing from sisal to plastic. Give it a read and see if it is in there. Otherwise, if I have a chance tonight, I will see what it says in my book and relay the information.

Mark
