My son wants to use his grandpa's horse-drawn John Deere single row corn planter. We'd like to know more about it and if we can get a sprocket to replace the one that turns the corn plate. The planter is cast iron, was painted red, says "John Deere, Molin, Ill." on top of hopper. It has a iron wheel, wooden handles and overall size is about the size of a hand push cultivator. Anybody know anything about this? thanks!!

Sorry, it took longer to get pics than I expected. Now I don"t know how to post them! If you could send me your e-mail address, I can send them. My son always loved his grandpa"s farm, now lives there with his family. And yes, he likes the challenge of not only getting the old stuff to work, but actually using it to produce. Even better, his two year old son is his shadow.
