I looked at one today - floor was pretty bad. Rack was okay, but I'd have to take it down to get at the floor. Airplane tires, steel frame looked okay. Wagons expensive? It's a 12 ton frame, 18x8 deck. Guy wants $700. I shouldn't have problems pulling with a JD 1630?
Opinions? thanks in advance
jason

Jason : That sounds expensive but seems to be the going rate here in Ont. Last year I paid $400 for a good 6 ton running gear only. I thought it was good but had to put 4 tires , 4 wheel bearings and a complete deck ( thrower racks). 16' x 8'. Paul

Jason, in my opinion you don't need a twelve ton wagon under a 18x8 flatrack. Most 18x8 decks will handle 120-140 square bales, roughly around three tons of hay,you could get 8-10 rounds on that deck, still around 4-5 tons depending on the size of the bale. I have four hay wagons that serve me well and there isn't a running gear that would be rated over 4 tons.

So it's overkill for the deck size and too much money? Sounds like I'll wait until the next one comes along. Thanks for the input.
