I have a Dearborn three bottom three point hitch plow. I would like to convert it to a single bottom plow so I can use it with my 20 hp John Deere 4100 compact tractor. It appears that I can do this just by taking it apart and reassembling it as a single bottom. Am I correct? Has anyone ever done this? Will it work? Thanks for your input.

Depends on the way it is made it may be possible. If it is made with the flat bar beams and the vertical part of the beam for no. 2 bottom is unboltable you may be able to do it but if the beams are all 1 piece molded then you cannot do it as that no. 2 beam if you took the bottom off would still want to berry itself in the ground the same as if it still had the bottom on it.

I have a Ford 3-14 3 point plow that I unbolted the 3rd bottom to make it a 2-14, so I don't see why not, as log as the plow frame is bolted together....Shawn
