I picked up a 5 ft. king kutter tiller at an auction--I knew ahead of time it leaked slowly.
I can see it is leaking where the tine shaft enters the gear box. I assume there is a seal--has anyone replace one of these before? If so, an tips? Thanks, Mark

you'll probably find a bad bearing that is letting the shaft drop down. on do-alls years ago we use to tear the bearings out real regular until i took a big washer and welded it just in front of the seal so that flying debry wouldn't knock the cover off the seal leting dirt get into the bearings.

Many thanks--good idea, I was actually contemplating trying to press a second seal next to the first to act as a guard-I like your idea better. Mark

Go to www.kingkutter.com/contact.asp and see if they have a repair manual on your tiller. Hal
