Going to look at a 15 foot flex wing Alamo cutter that has a hydraulic pump on it that runs hydraulic motors on the blades - instead of shaft driven gear boxes. I know the highway cutting crews run them, and I"m gonna talk to some of those guys. Do any of you have any experience running them?

Mitch

Before I retired - I ran the hydro mowers for the DOT in Ma.
we really liked them very little manitenance. the only problem we had is they don't like wet ground and will sink reel quick

I"ll keep that tip in mind. My tractor ain"t very light on it"s feet either. That"ll gimme an excuse to bolt on the extra feet.

Thanks,
Mitch

Neat. I've seen some hydro mowers that utilize a big pto pump on the tractor itself.. havn't seen one that had a pto powered pump on the mower itself.. but don't see why it wouldn't work.

I assume then that it has an oil tank/sump and a filter on the mower?

Post a pic of that bad boy when/if you get it.

10-4 Soundguy . . . . tank and pump on the mower. I"ll take some pics to share when I go look at it.

Here"s a link, but the pics aren"t the best:
