Recently bought a NH 575 square baler. Book recommends a 75 hp. tractor. Do I really need this much? What are you guys using?

There are probably 10 of those in the school district. Most popular baler around here. This is table top flat land. Smallest tractor is a 4030 John Deere. Only one of the 10 balers has a wagon behind it. It is with a 7010 A-C. The rest are all picked up with a stacker. J.

We run a New Holland 575 baler with a thrower and 18' wagons with a John Deere 4040. At 90 give or take horsepower it works with a near full wagon and hills. Flat ground with no thrower or wagon you should be able to get by with quite a bit less. Thats a big high capacity baler that definately uses some power.
