This week I saw for the first time (for real, not in a brochure ) at Bryan's auction in Puslinch Ontario Canada ,a 10 1/2 ft. 32 plate Massey Ferguson #72 3pt. tandem disc harrow. This was a unique implement : built with a similar frame as the more familiar MF#52 pull type ,this model was a fully mounted 3pt disc that was available in sizes up to 18 ft. with spring assist wings.Though it probably isn't the most practical disc ever made ,I was wondering how rare these discs were. Until now I only saw one in MF advertising literature. Anyone seen or owned one of these discs? (note the front gang angle was not adjustable and the 10 ft. was the smallest model)

john: I don't think you will find very many 3 point disks over 8'. Oh yes the manufacturers offered them in their catalogues back in the 50s-60s, but farmers didn't buy them, at least not many of them.

The problem with big fully mounted disks is the same as big fully mounted plow, it takes a much larger tractor to lift them than it does to pull a plow or disk of that size.
