I recently purchased at auction an Allis Chalmers 3 point tiller and was wondering how to tell what the model number might be. It has been neglected somewhat and is quite rusty. I haven't seen any ID plates or identifying marks on it yet. I was told at the auction that it's probably a little too big for my WD but that I could probably use it as long as I make several passes. Does anyone know how I can locate a manual for this tiller? I'd like to know more about it as well as how to maintain it properly.

I don't think A-C made a 3 point tiller, you might want to try this post over at the unofficial Allis page. If you can get access to Swinford's book, he might have a picture of one, however odds are that it's a re-badged unit, or just painted orange. Post a picture so we can see it.

i never run a tiller for a primary tillage tool any way. i just use it to make a good seed bed and that is determined alot by the ground speed and rpms your running. i didn't ever know ac made a tiller.
