Last summer I bought two JD 640 hay rakes that were on consignment at a New Holland dealership.

I paid $700 for both rakes.

One had a dolly wheel and the other did not.

The previous owner used them in tandem with the dolly wheel rake as the lead.

Except for low tires and rotten dolly wheel tire both were "field ready".

The last 640 that was sold on eBay went for over $1200 and appeard to be in good shape.

Hope this helps.

Forgot to say that usually the auctioneer well let you just switch the bid numbers so that you do not have to stick your neck out.

If they do not sell in the order you prefer, buy the first one and if you get the second one bought, resell the first one to the runner up. It is easy to make side deals at auctions.
