I found a460 haybine for sale, but have not gone to look at it yet. Is there any special areas I should look at that could be a problem?

Thanks,
Bobg

I have the 461. that is the 7 foot cutter. the 460 must be the 9 foot cutter.
Manual and parts boox are avalible from any NH dealer.
The part Number for the parts boox is. 87051480

It covers the 460 and 461.
Dont know what the number is for the user manual as mine is just for the 461.

Looks like you can fix any parts on it. So if the metal frame is good and the rollers are usable. Should work. never buy a old haybine with worn out rollers. it cost more for a roller than any 3 machimes would be worth.
here is what the 461 looks like cutting.

Well first off its old as in 30 plus years old. I use one every year and so far its been pretty good. The rubber on the roller is the big thing if its bad then it cost more to fix then its worth. Also check all chains and sprockets as they wear bad. Also check the wobble box bearings and the sickle bushing. Good thing is the parts are easy to find from a NH dealer there good machines just OLD
