I had an old New Holland 275 that would bale about 25 bales with plastic twine, then start missing badly- I started using the heavier sisal- 7200, I think it was- and it worked great.

I know nothing about JD 24 balers. Very little about twine but here is advice I was given for my NH 66 baler.

Don't by the roll of twine with the extra length. Get the shorter roll of twine because the string is actually thicker which is what the old baler is made for.

Does that help any?

I use the green 10,000 that comes from Brazil. Don't know the brand name. If I can remember I'll look tomorrow.
