I have a 24T and it has been a good baler. It also does not like a lot of hay volume.

My dad had a 14T for about 30 yrs before he traded it for a 214T. The only complaint i had was "doesn"t it ever break down?". I rode the rack if you couldn"t tell. We"d bale straight for 2 or 3 days and the only maintenance other than a good greasing was a couple shear pins that would break.

14T is a good baler. I picked this one up for $150. The only thing I have purchased for it.
12 shear bolts. $5
Other than that its grease and go.
I dont treat this one very well. I store it out side up at my land. i just cover the knotters and leave it all year.
its as tough as nails. Wouldn't even concider treating my NH68 that way.
The only problem I have found. When they say low volume baler they mean it. In heavy hay its slow going. It will plug up pretty easy if you over load the pick up area.
My NH68 will just grunt a little and eat. it likes a full mouth.
Bales from the 14T are far superior to the NH68.
Makes perfect square and tight bales.

these were good size windrows for the 14T.

these windrows were to big for the 14T. Plugged up alot on these. 2 9 foot swaths together.

NH 68 is also a good choince, but m quite a bit more finnicky.

As you can see it makes very nice hay.

I have a 214T baler and i love it....I dont do anything real big, but seems to always work. Dont know how much they are asking but a common price around here for a 14t and 214t is around 500 bucks. One thing I would rather have the 214t is the multi lube for the knotters. Just my 2 cents.

If it is in good shape and has been maintained AND you do the same, this is a good, low volume, reliable baler for a small operation. If it were me I would break a few bales of something cheap and run it through the baler while it is standing still and see how it is operating. You can keep recycling the same bales through it for a while.
I have two old JD balers and think the world of them.
