I"m new to hay baling but I have a question about how to put the wire in the twister.

I have the wire in the baler and threaded up to the twister, then what do I do?

I know this seems like a silly question but I have never done this before.

Do I run the twister through a cycle so it will stay caught between the knife and wire clamp.

Exactly where do I place the wire in the clamp? Please help

I have done it both ways, tying it to the needle frame or rotating it to get the knotters to hold it. I like the second method better as the first bale will be really long with the first method.

Doesn't really matter. I would tie the wire to the needle frame.

What model of baler is this? Assuming it"s anything like a NH276, you don"t thread the wire up to the twister. You thread it around the rollers in front of the needles and tie it down down behind the needles. The needles will catch it when they cycle and bring it up to the twisters when it trips on the first bale. There will be a cut-off piece left hanging where you tied it off. You really need to get a manual for your baler (or at least for a similar model).

It is a NH 271.
I just bought this baler and it did not have any wire in it.

I understand what you are saying that it will catch it on the first tie, but Where do you tie the wire to start?

I do have the manual and all it covers is the twine tie, so I ordered a twister service manual from NH and all it shows is how to service it, thing cost $30 and was no help at all.

should be 2 ceramic holders under the chamber where the needles are. They go through there and then through the needle and tie it off towards the back of the chute..
