There is a JD pull type haymower (not a haybine) at an auction this Sat. I have no idea of the model. It looked a lot like a David Bradley I'd seen but it had JD cast into the cast parts and painted green with yellow wheels. I couldn't find a model or serial tag anywhere. Does anyone have any idea what it is and what the value would be? Are they RARE? I've never seen one.

I have a JD Model 37. It is a pull behind type with belt drive and a wood pitman. It is in very good shape. I paid $350 for it last summer.

Not really rare. A mounted mower is much more common, but quite a few trailer type mowers were sold and used also. I've got a very similar IH McCormick mower that I paid $20 for, but it is in very sorry condition, and will need to be rebuilt from the ground up before I can use it. A mower of that type that is ready for the field could easily fetch $2,500 or more.

Are you talking about a horse drawn mower or a tractor type pull behind mower? It could be any number of different John Deere mowers.

It is a tractor pull type mower. Looks like a David Bradley pull type I"d seen a year ago. I believe it was belt driven, but also had a wooden pitman.
