I am looking for opinions on the Vermeer 503I round baler. Any inherent problems, other than the narrow pickup? Will it handle high moisture (silage) hay? What is one in decent condition worth?

Any help will be appreciated.

The 503I will handle 200 or less bales a year of haylage but you will need: rubber mounted teeth, advance the pickup timing, add 2 rubber flaps to the square starter roller, install bale restrictors, and adjust the wind guard down 1" below the top of the pick-up teeth.
3'x4' haylage bales will be the maximum size you should bale with a 503I.

These balers usually sell in the $3,500-$4,500 area for the mid-south region.
