I have an old John Deere LF-10 lime spreader. It still in fairly good shape but the sliding gates at the bottom are getting a little ragged. Would JD still be able to get those parts? Anybody else like Shoup or anyone have them any cheaper. I guess I could make some given enough time if no other source.

I have a LF 8, I know for a fact some parts are available and some are not. A helpful partsman can look part numbers up and posibly locate a dealer that still has them in stock. These machines are about 50 years old now.

Checked with JD this morning. Those parts were discontinued in 74 with no substitutes. No dealers in US show any in stock. Heck I thought 50-year-old equipment was pretty modern. My old lime spreader was originally a horse drawn model and is over 100 years old, and it still works too! I used it last year.

Try your JD dealer to find out. Parts catalog isn't online for one that old so may have to order your own parts catalog.
