Hello,
I am looking at several cultiuvators.
I have seen a 12 ft perfecta and a 14 ft Long. What are the perfectas and the long worth. A new perfecta is $3400.The perfecta is 12ft.

Thanks

Before you spend that kind of money on a machine that wouldn't have any resale value because of it's size, go to the auctions and get a used one. We have a 14' Glencoe with fairly good 2" points on it, we'd sell it for $150 or 200 if we can find a wider one in the 18-20' range with a narrow enough of a main frame that we can still pull it when need be with our Massey 285.

That's what we use on the Glencoe, but we have a 18' spring tooth we pull with the Oliver 1855 but it doesn't have any trash clearance for the extra stalks when we chisel plow the corn feilds instead of moldboard plowing them under. Gets to be a hassle, but the chisel is too quick in the fall to not do it.

Perfecta fc work well and sell high. Here"s what I found from my search for a 15 ft 3 pt mounted unit. Perfecta I at equipment jockey listed at $1650, sold before I called. Private ad for Perfercta II (?) owner wasn"t sure, sold for $1600 before I called. Brillion version of Perfecta II (identical to Unverferth) like new except fair paint sold at auction for $2000. I finally found a Koehn (?) for $1000. It"s well used but heavier than Perfecta and has a double rolling basket. I"ve mounted this on my no-till drill coulter cart for single pass incorporation of chicken litter. A pull type with c shanks and no basket will be quite a bit cheaper.

Thanks for the info. I would like something in the 12 ft range and rolling baskets. I work red dirt in NC. It tends to clump bad and need something to break up the clumps.

Thanks,
I have seen some at auction and a Long 14ft is coming up soon. I will not buy a new one because of what you said. There are far to many out there to choose from. I just need a ball park figure on what the Long is worth.
