I recently acquired a non-operational 1950something Shawnee Scout Backhoe attachment which I believe was once used on the previous owners Case541 tractor. I am trying to get this old hunk functioning again. I believe that the broken pump that is on it is not the same type that came on it new and was hoping to find some information on what this thing looked like in OEM condition, how the pump mounted and the size and location of the hydraulic resevoir. Any info would be appreciated. I have found nothing on the internet on this implement or the Shawnee Manufacturing Company.

Best Regards,
Brian Baker

Hi Brian. Allis Chalmers bought Shawnee in the 50's. AC and Case used to use their loaders and back hoes.I saw a Shawnee loader and back hoe on a VAI, all painted yellow.. It was a 50's tractor. The loader was just a simple pipe frame with a small bucket. The back hoe had two hyd. cylinders mounted horizontally hooked to steel cables to swing the the boom. The hydrualic pump was mounted on the front of the tractor and ran off of the front end of crankshaft. I don't remember where the hyd. resivoir was mounted. Hope this helps. Charley.

Look in my web site at my back hoe. Does the one you have look any thing like it?? If so then ya you will not find much if any thing about them. The one I have runs off a front mounted pump which also works the loader.
