I got an AC rake very much like the one somebody pictured, from my uncle. I traded a Craftsman 5000 watt generator to him for it, he hasn't had hay for years, I got stung pulling it out of the weeds. I works very good, two forward speeds & reverse for tending. Its a big old heavy monster, good luck with your search, I live in Southern Maryland.

You could always look for a horse drawn tedder- if you like antiques. They only fluff hay. I had 13 at one time, -I still have 9 horse tedders. They're cool to watch but slow to use.

I know nothing about current manufacturers, but if you're into antique machinery- Allis Chalmers made a rake from the late 40s, through the 50s, which was pto powered, had a high and low speed, and a reverse for tedding. Would fluff an existing windrow to dry it out after a rain.

Picture of AC rake/tedder.
The AC is my favorite mid alfalfa hay making implement. Also have a NH 144 inverter, works well occasionally on alfalfa. Also an old IH five bar and Case four bar rakes used for grass hays. Our using a Hesston moco and roco weve little use for the rakes unless pressed by poor or changing weather conditions.

New Idea also made one or many. Looks like a normal side delivery rake but will also fluff hay. I have one on low rubber that works great! Paid $30 for it at a sale. It would most likely be older than the ones others here are mentioning. Also most old steel wheel side delivery rakes will operate as a tedder. I have three of those. Most in this area are under $50.

Go into this forum deeper and you will find that New Holland combo's are not that good.

NH made a 254 and 255 rake/tedder. They are about 9' and can be extended to 13' I think. I have a 255. Does a good job and is three point, nice for small acers. Can be pricy to repair so if you find one look it over really good. Rakes a nice fluffy windrow and will tedd really well. You need the book on it to understand all the adjustments and ground speed is important also. i mostly use mine to fluff the morning before baling. I use a 17' unit to tedd as I can cover twice the ground. I would stay away from the older 254. 255 had many improvements. they look the same but, the 255 is a better machine.

I have an old Hesston 3700 that was designed to be a combo tedder and rake. By the time I got it most of the rake parts had disappeared, so I use it strictly as a tedder. Works well for that. I've seen a few go thru auctions for under $500. They are rare and don't stir much interest at a sale...if you ever see one.

Vermeer has one. Can't remember the model number. I think it's a TR-?. New Holland has one also. Again can't remember the model number, 255 maybe?.
Hopefully someone else can help you more with the model numbers but what you're asking about does exist...
take care,
mee
