I had a spreader given to me. It has no web, and where the tag should be is just 2 rusted rivets, or bolt stubs. It"s ground drive, 2 wheels, 24" tires, tractor drawn, 3 beater. Box is roughly 38" x 9"9", metal flare at top and metal flare plate on front. The web gears are 35.5" outside to outside. From reading the archives I figure I"m looking at a 12, 17 or a 206, but which one?

Thanks.

It sounds like a #17 (12A had wood front panel and wood flare board) that leaves a 17 or 206. 206 had a web 37 1/2" outside to outside and 17 was 36 1/4 outside to outside.

There is a upside down U angle iron that goes over the top beater. Is that angle iron straight up and down or is at a 45 degree angle toward the rear? That is one way to tell if it's a 12/12A or a later one.
